The Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) is poised for a dynamic 8th edition, officially announcing a robust programme lineup scheduled to run from July 19 to 27, 2025.
The festival remains true to its foundational mission as a crucial cultural bridge, linking Malaysian cinema with bold, diverse, and impactful storytelling from across the globe. This year's event will also include a significant tribute to a cinematic icon, as the 8th MIFFest proudly honors the legendary Ti Lung with the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented as part of the Extended Special Programme under the Master At Work series.The Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA) will serve as the spectacular culmination of the festival, promising an electrifying competition. Several critically acclaimed titles are leading the nominations, reflecting the depth and diversity of the global narratives that MIFFest champions. The prestigious awards ceremony is scheduled for July 26, 2025, at ZEPP Kuala Lumpur. The event will be accessible to a wider audience via live streams on MIFFest’s official Facebook and TikTok LIVE channels, allowing viewers to witness which remarkable films will ultimately take home the coveted prizes. This prestigious night will unite filmmakers, actors, juries, and guests in a vibrant celebration of artistic achievement and global cinematic excellence.
