Acclaimed Singaporean editor Armiliah Aripin has been announced as a key editor for "Mare's Nest," the highly anticipated new film from renowned British experimental filmmaker Ben Rivers. Her involvement brings a wealth of experience in shaping complex narratives to this unique international co-production.


Aripin is a Singaporean editor currently based in London, known for her sharp storytelling instincts and versatile work across various genres. Prior to pursuing her MA in Editing at the prestigious National Film and Television School (NFTS) in the UK, she spent a decade honing her skills editing TV documentaries for major networks like National Geographic and Discovery, as well as dramas and promos for NBC, BBC, and MTV. This extensive background has equipped her with a deep understanding of narrative rhythm and visual flow.


Aripin has rapidly established herself as a sought-after editor in the independent film circuit. Her recent feature film credits include "Ajoomma" (2022), which premiered at the Busan Film Festival and was Singapore's official submission to the Academy Awards, and "Dreaming & Dying" (2023) by Nelson Yeo, which won two prizes at the Locarno Film Festival. She also edited the short film "Shé (Snake)" (2024) by Renee Zhan, which premiered at Sundance. Her work is consistently praised for its ability to enhance emotional depth and narrative clarity.


About 'Mare's Nest':

"Mare's Nest" is a drama film written and directed by Ben Rivers, known for his distinctive blend of fiction, documentary, poetic essay, and fable. The film, partially inspired by Don DeLillo's play The Word for Snow, tells the story of Moon, a young girl exploring a mysterious, adult-less world. Shot over three years across Menorca, Spain, and the United Kingdom, the film promises a unique vision infused with both unease and a sense of wonder.
